AllMusic Review by

Willie Nelson has released countless albums over the years, and these have been reshuffled and repackaged in myriad ways into even more releases, but there was a time in the early to mid-'70s when Nelson moved at a slower and more deliberate studio pace, and his albums from that era are conceptually among his most coherent. This set packages three of those albums, 1971’s Yesterday’s Wine, originally released by RCA Records, 1975’s Red Headed Stranger, and the Booker T. Jones-produced Stardust from 1978, the latter two of which were originally released by Columbia Records, in a single budget box. Together they make a compelling portrait of Nelson at both his commercial and creative best.
