Though the track listing looks good and is definitely what most people expect to hear at wedding receptions and similar affairs, these definitely aren't the versions people expect to hear. No, that isn't Michael Jackson performing "Billie Jean" on Drew's Famous Reception Party Music and, no, Kool and the Gang aren't performing "Celebration," even though it's their song and it kind of sounds like them. Instead, you have the Hit Crew performing all these popular favorites, which also include "You're the One That I Want," "I Will Survive," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and "Love Train." It's also worth noting that there are a few novelty tunes here like "YMCA," "Mony Mony," and "Macarena" that are considered wedding reception staples, even if the songs themselves aren't quite on par with the rest of what's here. Overall, the track listing indeed looks a sure-fire wedding reception play list, but the fact that these aren't the original versions of the songs ruins what could be a really great CD for anyone planning a reception.
