Are these really the worst songs of all time, or just tunes that were pushed so hard on the public by media conglomerates that no person on earth has failed to hear each one at least a couple thousand times? Is Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" really one of the worst songs ever, or just incredibly darn irritating after you've heard it over and over again on the drive to grandmother's house? Ironically, what makes the tunes collected here so ultimately irritating is the very thing that made each of them successful in the first place, the fact that each one has a huge, infectious hook that just won't let go until it has wormed its way deep into the unconscious mind, where it nests and waits until the next time you turn on your radio. What could be worse than that? Well, how about "Don't Worry, Be Happy" sung by an anonymous group of singers known as the Hit Crew. That's what you get here, annoying songs sung by generic singers to generic backing tracks that up the ante from merely annoying to extremely dangerous.
