AllMusic Review by

In 1958 Columbia Records hosted a jazz party that resulted in two records, one by the Miles Davis Sextet and the other featuring Duke Ellington's orchestra during a prime period. In addition to features for Johnny Hodges, Clark Terry and Paul Gonsalves (along with the "Jazz Festival Suite"), Ellington welcomes Count Basie's former vocalist, Jimmy Rushing, for three numbers and Billie Holiday (in okay form for this late in her life) stops by for two numbers with a small group that includes trumpeter Buck Clayton. Excellent music.
