This triple-disc collection on the dubious Boxserts label pieces together a boatload of more live material than any Santana fan needs -- no matter how devoted. There are some sloppy early performances from the Bay Area, as well as later years' post-band stuff and you've heard most of it in far better shape before. This material is of dubious source origin and has been presented in other anthologies -- a single example is on the Delta imprint in slightly differently running order under the title Samba Pa Ti. While some of this track list may seem unfamiliar to the uninitiated or more casual fan who may think the price is a bargain -- you get what you pay for. Glance at the early Santana Lotus set, and earlier still at the Live at the Fillmore recordings for confirmation that this one isn't anything that approaches rare. The recording quality and mix here are muddy and the entire proceeding is without dynamic -- which is not the way the Santana band plays live gigs. Avoid.
