The follow-up to the surprisingly popular Pretty Wild project, which teamed the fiery Chicago jazz cornetist Wild Bill Davison with a string section, features Davison in a similar format. While Percy Faith had written the arrangements for the earlier set, this time Deane Kincaide wrote more swinging charts and not only featured Davison, but trombonist Cutty Cutshall and clarinetist Bob Wilber. The somewhat obscure LP (not yet reissued on CD) puts the emphasis on slower tempos and does not display as much extroverted fire as the usual Wild Bill session, but it does have its stirring moments. Worth searching for by Davison completists.
