This 1968 soundtrack is one of Ennio Morricone's more obscure works, and though not strikingly dissimilar to his more celebrated efforts, it still varies from the formula enough to warrant a close listen. The full flush of Morricone's imagination is at work here on a score that ranges from straight-ahead pop songs--"Belinda May"and a cover of Sergio Endrigo's "Canzone Della Liberta"--to eccentric symphonic pieces and airy chamber music.
