Classical » Film Score
Plenty of people who think they don't like classical music nevertheless listen to and enjoy a good deal of it as accompaniment to movies, and even quite difficult musical styles have been successfully employed by film composers. Music has been used to accompany films since at least 1892, going from live accompaniment for silent films to the full orchestral soundtrack scores of today, with prominent composers ranging from Sergei Prokofiev to Hans Zimmer. The genre also encompasses music composed for television, for video games, and for other modern media where music can enhance the user's visual experience.
