Acappella

A Cappella is any vocal music performed without musical accompaniment. Like its diametric opposite, instrumental, it is not a specific genre of music, but simply a label affixed to any vocal not backed by music. Consequently, an a cappella performance could conceivably exist within the boundaries of any musical style or genre.
