Heliotropes’ debut album, A Constant Sea, is out next week via Manimal Vinyl, and we’re pretty stoked. The stoner rock vibe is heavy, the spaced out jams are really sweet, the droning guitars and fuzzed solos are quite nice, and the quartet play with plenty of power, but also a considerable amount of finesse. Check our review for the full story on the album, and the video that follows for some audio input. Then, check out the group’s vocalist/lead guitarist Jessica Numsuwankijkil’s favorite things of late!

F.W. Murnau – Nosferatu
I've been falling asleep to this every night as of late: there's something very soothing about the score, and of course, there's always the iconic silhouette shot from this film to lull you to sleep!

Beliefs – “Catch My Breath”
Simply my favorite song right now. I listen to it every day. I think there are a lot of bands that exhibit similar influences right now, but I think Beliefs are among the best.

Veal Sweetbreads at Roberta's
I usually forgo expensive pizza, since it's my least favorite dine-out option, but Roberta's usually has some great kitchen items. I like the lime zest chiffonade they drape over the bits, and sweetbreads are my favorite variety of offal.

Rockaway Beach
It's summer in Brooklyn again, and I'm really looking forward to being at the beach with my friends and bandmates. Ripper's has opened after a terrible bout with Hurricane Sandy, and I can't wait to go and have a Michelada and listen to some music on the shore.

My new bike
It's a Windsor Clockwork. I got it off Bikesdirect.com for $250, and it's light as a feather. You can ride it fixed gear or single speed. After years of having this vintage steel clunker, it's pretty nice to have a bike that I can carry through the subway if I get too tired or have too many drinks.
