Bernard Herrmann's score for the minor U.K. thriller Twisted Nerve (1968) was brought into the spotlight 35 years after the film's release, when writer/director Quentin Tarantino used the dreamy -- and creepy -- main whistling theme for the soundtrack to his Kill Bill, Vol. 1. The theme would later hit the U.S. Top 30 when rapper Rob $tone used it in his 2015 single "Chill Bill." While much of Twisted Nerve's music was available on prior collections, the complete, stand-alone score was assembled and remastered by Sean Magee (2009 Beatles reissues) at Abbey Road Studios for its vinyl premiere in 2016. The symphonic soundtrack is most memorable for the whistling device, but typically Romantic and suspenseful of the legendary composer.
