Thanks to his enduring, often-covered, and signature hit “Susie Q,” which blended Howlin’ Wolf with plenty of cowbell and a killer rockabilly guitar riff courtesy of a young Roy Buchanan, Dale Hawkins came up with one of the biggest shots in the rockabilly revolution in 1957. This set collects that seminal hit along with the A- and B-sides of Hawkins' first 14 singles released by the Chess Records subsidiary Checker Records between 1956 and 1960.
