Sounds of the Seventies: 1973 - Take Two is another fine entry in a fine series from Time-Life that picks up where Sounds of the Seventies: 1973 leaves off. It collects 20 songs that made the year what it was, while drawing from a wide range of styles and genres. It provides both a fine introduction to the year's music and a highly entertaining exercise in nostalgia, and either way it is a blast. The highlights of the set (Steely Dan's "Do It Again," Timmy Thomas' "Why Can't We Live Together," and Edgar Winter's "Free Ride) point out the kind of diversity found both in the year's music and this collection.
