Joan Baez's second two albums, Joan Baez in Concert, Pt. 1 and Joan Baez in Concert, Pt. 2, were recorded at various U.S. college campuses in 1962 and 1963 in support of her first two studio albums, and they don't differ much, really, from the studio affairs, featuring Baez solo and acoustic, and of course, that soaring soprano that seems to almost single-handedly launch the great urban folk revival of the early '60s. Never has folk music seemed so stately, graceful, and elegant, as if it had been transferred to the opera hall. Here both of those concert albums have been combined into a single package.
