For the passionately devoted Iron Maiden fan -- and there are a lot out there -- Eddie's Head is a treasure of sorts. The limited-edition box set contains all 12 of the original band's remastered, enhanced CDs (complete with full lyrics, artwork, photos, and multimedia sections, plus non-LP singles added as bonus tracks where appropriate). For the record they are: Iron Maiden, Somewhere in Time, Killers, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, Number of the Beast, No Prayer for the Dying, Piece of Mind, Fear of the Dark, Powerslave, A Real Live One/A Real Dead One (a combined release of A Real Live One and A Real Dead One), Live After Death (now a double disc, containing five tracks from the original double vinyl which were cut on the initial single-CD release), and Live at Donington -- all encased in a plastic box, moulded in the shape of the head of their demonic mascot, Eddie. In addition to the 12 albums, there's a bonus disc, "In Profile," which tells the history of the band through interviews with its members. Certainly, a set this exhaustive and expensive isn't meant for casual fans, but its lavishness and thoroughness make it ideal for hardcore fans and collectors.
