By 1968 the Beatles had become so assuming to think every casual musical fragment of theirs deserved to be admired by their listeners. This way in this record you can find a bunch of great songs and some brilliant musical ideas side by side with silly and boring tunes, which makes the listening from first song to last quite challenging. Had they stick to the best material and issued a single LP, this would have been probably one of their greatest records.
