1978's Life for the Taking contains more guitar distortion/compression and more dramatic post-Blues balladry (title track), The Rolling Stones imitation (“Can't Keep a Good Man Down”) and more embarrassing nods to Bee Gees/Barry White-like string-driven Disco balladry (“Maybe I'm a Fool”).
