Album Premiere: Rory Partin Revives the Big Band Sound

Louisiana-born musician Rory Partin brings back the spectacle of the big band sound on his new self-titled solo album, which comes out this week. With a blend of original songs and covers of classic tunes like "Fly Me to the Moon" and "I Get a Kick Out of You," Partin's latest features a guest spot from the recently-passed Cajun country icon Jimmy C. Newman and instrumentation from members of some of the greatest acts in big band history, such as the orchestras of Tommy Dorsey, Bobby Darin and Harry James.
