Yesterday we debuted a bright, psychedelically-inclined album that we really enjoyed, but it didn't quite scream "November." Today's premiere,
Improvisations for Theremin and Piano, is perhaps a more seasonally-representative album: a downtempo, amorphous collection of pieces improvised by theremin player
Carolina Eyck and pianist Christopher Tarnow. The icy, somber tone is reflected in the track titles, which were probably fun to come up with, like "A Whale in Love," "Haunted Ballerina" and the apt "Quiet Snowfall."
Improvisations for Theremin and Piano is out November 18 on
Butterscotch Records, and can be ordered on
CD,
digital and
vinyl formats.
