AllMusic Review by

The warm synths, emotive keys, and drum machine beats that marked the arrival of All Tomorrow's Food signified both the death and subsequent rebirth of Rob Haigh, the singular producer behind legendary drum'n'bass powerhouse Omni Trio. While this first album as Black Rain, recorded in collaboration with fellow jungle veteran Deep Blue, marked the launch of his own Scale imprint, it also underlined his first recording outside of his decade-long relationship with the legendary Moving Shadow label. Volume underlines his contributions to the imprint, with the two CDs loaded with classics -- from the opening "Renegade Snares" through "Feel Better," "Who Are You," and "Sanctuary" right up to 2001's "Breakbeat Etiquette," these are tracks intrinsic to the development of jungle, each marking a significant step forward in the evolution of the genre. A mixed disc that includes virtually every Omni Trio single released to date provides a welcome bonus, the highlight taking the form of the much-lauded John B. remix of "Thru the Vibe."
