AllMusic Review by

See For Miles reissued two Ventures albums from the mid-'60s, Ventures A Go-Go and Where the Action Is, on a single disc in 1995. Both albums find the group running through uptempo, swinging sets of songs that are supposed to capture the feeling of a go-go party. Although neither record quite fulfills its goals, they're still entertaining. In particular, Ventures A Go-Go, is an entertaining record, featuring good versions of "Satisfaction," "Louie Louie," "La Bamba," "The In Crowd," "Wooly Bully" and "I Like It Like That," plus a lot of competent, albeit undistinguished originals like "Go-Go Slow," "Go-Go Guitar" and "Go-Go Dancer." Ultimately the album, like its partner on this two-fer, doesn't have enough highlights to make it of interest to anyone but hardcore fans, but those fans should be pleased with this set.
