In 1979, Jacqueline Bisset starred in the movie Amo Non Amo, a drama by Italian filmmaker Armenia Balducci about a woman struggling with sexual freedom and romantic disappointment after a bitter divorce. For the film's American release, Amo Non Amo was retitled Together?, and legendary songwriter Burt Bacharach was commissioned to compose a new score. Bacharach's score for Together? reflected a more mature, jazzy approach than his best-known work, though the four vocal selections on the soundtrack -- featuring Michael McDonald, Jackie DeShannon, and Libby Titus, with Paul Anka penning the lyrics -- confirmed he was still a master of sophisticated but engaging pop. In part due to the film's poor showing at the box office, the Together? soundtrack soon went out of print, but was reissued in Japan in 2012 and in the United States in 2014.
