Time-Life's Sounds of the Seventies: 1978 - Take Two picks up where volume one of 1978 left off, gathering up some great songs taken from a wide range of styles and genres. Most of the artists collected here are big-time hit-makers from the worlds of disco (the Trammps), funky soul (Chaka Khan, Raydio), power pop (Todd Rundgren), singer/songwriter (Carly Simon), and pop/rock (the Cars, Genesis), but there are also one-hit wonders like Player ("Baby Come Back") and the stunning comeback from Frankie Valli ("Grease") too. All together it sounds like an hour of fairly enlightened pop radio on a really good station, which makes the disc a good selection for someone who wants to know what 1978 sounded like to the average music fan.
