AllMusic Review by

With his smooth, restrained vocals and a piano style to match, Nat King Cole was the very embellishment of cool. Burying his R&B and gospel roots, he brought an unsaid intimacy to everything he touched, and with his easy jazz/lite swing, his canon is unlike any in pop music. This two-disc set includes versions of "Sunny Side of the Street," a run through of Duke Ellington's "It's Kind of Lonesome Out Tonight," and even some leisurely blues with "Chant of the Blues (Dog Gone Unlucky Blues)." Cole's approach is so immediately compelling that even "Three Blind Mice" works here.
