The quality control with Swervedriver was all but unparalleled, and there was no need for any "third time is a charm" nonsense with their early singles. Sandblasted again offers three great B-sides from the band: "Flawed," "Out," and the scorched "Laze it Up," which boasts some nasty, digging, non-flashy guitar riffs from guitarists Adam Franklin and Jimmy Hartridge. It must be noted that a compilation of their nine B-sides from the three singles released prior to Raise would give that LP (also nine tracks in length) a run for its money -- no small feat considering the strength of Raise. When most bands of this era put out a fraction of material this good, they realized they could do no better and packed it in. Swervedriver, however, were just warming up.
