AllMusic Review by

The second of two trio albums by pianist Ralph Sutton, clarinetist Kenny Davern and drummer Gus Johnson (Sutton's powerful left hand means there is no need for a string bass) is one of a dozen LPs the pianist made for the now-defunct Chaz Jazz label during 1979-81. The masterful classic jazz musicians stretch out on six standards (highlighted by "St. Louis Blues," "A Porter's Love Song to a Chambermaid" and "Old Fashioned Love"), and Sutton takes one of his infrequent vocals on a brief version of "'Tain't Nobody's Business." Well worth searching for, as are all of the obscure Chaz Jazz releases.
