The second of two solo piano CDs by Ralph Sutton taken from performances at Toronto's Cafe Des Copains is the equal of the first. Sutton, who has had no close competitors among stride pianists since the late 1940s other than Dick Wellstood and Dick Hyman, romps through such songs as "Dinah," "Believe It Beloved" and "Baby Brown," in addition to performing a few ballads and a four-song Duke Ellington medley. A typically strong and spirited outing by an underrated master.
