Pure Flow is the second retrospective collection of Steve Roach's career. This collection is from CDs on his own Timeroom label. There are five CDs represented and one previously unreleased piece. Even for fans who already own all the discs, this is an important set. Roach's talents allow him to sequence the compositions so that they have new meaning in a new format. Deep listeners will feel the angst of desert isolation and they will feel the conundrums buried in Roach's tribal minimalism. His space music always has senses of mystery, discovery, and wonderment. These pieces come from different formats. Roach selected them based on their similar textures and timbres. Again, it is not fair to compare a Roach CD to anything but another Roach CD. This is classic minimalism.
