AllMusic Review by

Pandamonium 2001: Vol. 3 is a collection of Australian artists on the independent Pandamonium label. This is the third volume that they have released in the series, and is actually a disappointment. Where in previous volumes there seemed to be some very original and odd bands featured, this time around there are a lot of bands that sound the same. Many of the artists on the album fit into one of two categories: snotty rap-metal or heavy grunge rock. Some of the bands try to put a spin on these genres, for example Shamanic Haze mixes disco beats with their grunge, with the results landing somewhere near "I Was Made for Loving You"-era Kiss. Other artists, like Hot Rubber Glove (who has improved since they first started issuing these comps), Meat Bikini, and Function offer some fairly original and catchy material. But for the most part, this jumps from metal to grunge with little variety. Those wanting to see what the label is up to in 2001 may want to give this a listen, but be warned that the quality of this is below their previous standards.
