Although Andre Previn's orchestral records of the 1960s are only of occasional interest to jazz listeners, all of his trio outings are well worth picking up. This LP finds the pianist, bassist Red Mitchell and drummer Frank Capp interpreting eight songs from the show Camelot. Unfortunately, none of the melodies caught on or are that memorable (when was the last time a jazz group played "I Wonder What the King Is Doing Tonight," "The Lusty Month of May" or "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood"?), so this hard-to-find set is not too essential, but Previn and his sidemen do their best to uplift and swing the material.
