Love Letters in the Sand contains assorted album tracks and B-sides recorded by Sonny James for Capitol Records in the late '60s. His remake of the Seekers' "I'll Never Find Another You" is the only hit, and is here with its B-side, "Goodbye, Maggie, Goodbye," and covers of popular '60s songs like the title track and Skeeter Davis' "End of the World." James' sound became so formulaic from the mid-'60s onward that anyone familiar with his style will know what this album sounds like before it even plays. The tracks were specially selected to create a mellow mood, and Love Letters in the Sand may be James' most relaxing record, for what that's worth.
