Internationally heralded producer/DJ Theo Parrish provides us with this artifact of his residency at the now defunct legendary Detroit after-hours club Better Days. This 74-minute excerpt of a continuous mix takes the listener through a journey spanning over three decades of music, with artists ranging in diversity from Larry Heard, Herbie Hancock, and Bumblebee Unlimited to Roy Ayers. While the quality of the audio is quite low compared to other mix CDs, it more than makes up for it in track selection. This mix is an important document for anyone who was lucky enough to witness these sessions first hand, but essential for anyone who wishes to further understand Theo Parrish and one of his life missions: to meld the African-American artists of the present day together with the legendary African-American artists of the past in one communal setting, further educating those unfamiliar with the importance of the music from the past.
