The second in a series of CDs from the German Nagel-Heyer label that features performances recorded at Hamburg's Amerika Haus puts the spotlight on cornetist Warren Vache. Notable for being one of the few recorded matchups of Vache with his brother, clarinetist Allan Vache, this set also has a fine British rhythm section comprised of pianist Brian Lemon, guitarist Dave Cliff, bassist Dave Green and drummer Allan Ganley. Allan Vache is a bit erratic in spots but Warren is in good form on such tunes as "My Shining Hour," "Poor Butterfly," Billy Strayhorn's "Isfahan" and "Cherokee."
