AllMusic Review by Sean Westergaard

Italy: Arberesh Polyphony from Basilicata is a recording of women's polyphonic singing from Italy. All the pieces, save two, are performed a cappella; the other two are accompanied only by surdulina, a kind of Italian bagpipe. Interesting stuff, at times sounding similar to an a cappella Italian Värttinä.
