Compiling the Australian psychedelic chamber group's two albums (1991's Untune the Sky and 1994's Instinct) along with their 1990 Propeller 7", the 1991 Tendrils and Paracetamol EP, and 1992's self-titled EP, Flashbacks & Dream Sequences makes a case for the Richard Davies-led band to be one of the great underrated groups of its era. Combining solidly weird psych pop songcraft with a brilliant sense of melody and an ear for subtle beauty in the arrangements, the band started off very promisingly, but really hit its stride on Instinct. It's one of those albums that all fans of psych pop really need to own if they are worth their salt. Now said fans can own the entire Moles output, plus a handful of interesting rarities, in one handy place.
