The music on this sampler is taken from Ella Fitzgerald's Pablo years, but inexcusably there is no personnel and date information included, nor any real liner notes. Ella is heard in her declining years, singing some songs from an Antonio Carlos Jobim tribute, performing a few duets with Joe Pass, and heading all-star groups. There are some good moments along the way (Ella never lost her sense of swing), the material is fine, and the backup is usually quite good. But Fitzgerald's voice was gradually failing at the time and the music is far from essential, even if it were being reissued coherently. Better to get the more worthy Pablo CDs instead.
