Veteran tenor saxophonist Brew Moore, who died in 1973, spent most of his last dozen years living in Scandinavia. His last recordings resulted in two LPs (the other was released by Storyville) made during the same night. Teamed with pianist Lars Sjosten, bassist Sture Nordin and drummer Fredrik Noren, Moore is in fine form on "Old Folks," Tony Fruscella's "Baite," a pair of Sjosten's originals and his own "Brew's Stockholm Dew's." Moore stayed true to his roots in Lester Young-style swing up until the end.
