A slow jam compilation that, while very good, fails to distinguish itself from similar titles; with only 12 songs, it's the track length of a '60s vinyl LP; yeah, the tunes are longer, but they could have slapped a few more on. Time Life didn't chance turning off frontrunners with obscure tunes; most can lip-synch the words to these songs, with Tamiko Jones' "Touch Me Baby" and Johnnie Taylor's "Your Love Is Rated X" possible exceptions. The type of CD you buy when you're pining for one or two songs and the price is reasonable.
