AllMusic Review by

Chicago's Blue Meanies were practicing their brand of chaotic, ska-influenced noise-punk years before Top 40 radio picked it up. Continuing their hyper-spastic, horn-rimmed assault with "The Corpse," the Meanies prove that they haven't lost their youthful touch (even if they were in their early 30s when it was recorded). However, the Meanies' years of experience and hefty discography can't overshadow the Alkaline Trio. The normally sorrowful three-piece put aside their blunt tales of woe and heartache for a bouncy, Moog-soaked rendition of the Cars' new-wave classic "Bye Bye Love."
