AllMusic Review by

After years of being underrated and overlooked, guitarist Ed Bickert's association with Concord made him a household name in the jazz world. Bickert is pushed on this set by tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton, cornetist Warren Vache, bassist Steve Wallace, and drummer Jake Hanna, and such numbers as Buck Clayton's relaxed "Swingin' Along on Broadway," a cooking "Limehouse Blues," and Coleman Hawkins' "The Walker" find the normally cool guitarist swinging hard. Even the inclusion of a couple of trio numbers ("I'll Wait and Pray" and "Walk It Off") and a few ballads does not take away from the heat. One of the best Ed Bickert recordings.
