The Chilean folk rock sounds of Victor Jara are very hypnotic and lush, which makes 20 Anos Despues a hard album to immediately grasp. But Jara's true talent lies in the long-lasting power of his music, most of these songs have aged wonderfully and become more and more enjoyable with every listen. There are some obvious issues here, most importantly with the sound. There are cracks and snaps that sound like the album was taken directly from a record, while other songs are quite muffled and awkward. But the music overcomes most of these problems, leaving a good album that should appeal to most fans of the genre.
