While not a historical year by any stretch of the imagination, 1973 provided the world with some monster hits that would influence generations of soul singers and songwriters. The throat wrenching "Neither One of Us" took break-up ballads into uncharted waters, and the fuzz tones coming from the Isley Brothers' "That Lady" would spawn a thousand imitations. There are several other hits on this record as well, and it's an economically sensible alternative to trying to purchase each individual record.
