Song Review by

Originally titled "John Lee Hooker" (that's what it says on the session sheet), "Revelation" was the first single "song" that covered an entire album side (not counting Bob Dylan's "Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands"). It's basically a boogie-inspired jam recorded in the studio, and quite reminiscent of John Lee Hooker. A standard set-closer from Love's club shows of the period, it has been long-rumored that the Rolling Stones were inspired to write and record "Goin' Home" for their Aftermath album after seeing Love perform this in early 1966. Sounds pretty accurate.
