The Monkees

Good Clean Fun

Song Review by

Recorded in the heart of Nashville with some of the city's finest country players, "Good Clean Fun" is one of Michael Nesmith's most authentic country recordings, ever. More rustic than some of his other sides in this genre, the grandiose production sets the simple lyric thrust (of returning to a loved one) off with a great sense of style. The song actually made it into the Top 100 (number 82) in autumn of 1969, primarily due to the quality of the record, as the Monkees 'fame was, in effect, long over.
