generally people talk only about the guitarist jimi hendrix, but the wonder of the first album consists of several factors: 1) never had a trio been so complete, full and imaginative, and even after them it would have been a rush to imitate them 2) the songs do not belong to the rock genre, nor blues, nor soul, they are original, absolutely not derivative and never predictable 3) the voice is charismatic both in singing and in speaking, and the choirs are wisely dosed without ever being dull 4) the album never has a moment of tiredness and has a dynamics and originality of timing and harmonic progressions that is enviable. 5) jimi hendrix guitarist, yes, you can't forget, every solo, every lick and every riff can wipe out the past, present and much of the future competition in rock guitar.
