I listen mostly to (real) jazz and progressive rock, though much of my collection can't realistically be categorized.

This is an utterly fabulous jazz effort by a relatively unknown composer and sax player. The side players she got for the sessions are excellent, there's wonderful chemistry, such a live feel for a studio recording. This album is a dark horse if there ever was one. You can get the CD at full price and be assured of a set of stellar performances.

This is a true hidden gem. It's a shame Bartz has never received the full recognition he deserves, not merely just for his playing, but also for his writing and arrangements. With Mulgrew Miller, Dave Holland, and Eddie Henderson, among others...you obviously can't go wrong here. Just buy it.
