The Weezer Blue Album is way more than it seems at first listen. I remember the first time i heard Buddy Holly and saw the video which was innovative at the time for it's placement of the band interposed with the cast of Happy Days in a creative manner. It was funny.
The band has been categorized multiple ways, and gained fame during the grudge era. The powerpop and harmonies are also a bridge to the pop punk bands of the 90's. I think the lyrics are creative, and the band has a nerdy appeal that bridges generations.
My daughter loves Weezer. It isn't because they were on the frozen 2 soundtrack. It's because they write catchy songs and put on a great show. I'll definitely be reviewing their whole catalog.
This whole album is full of ear worms. The songs are catchy and get better with every listen. I thought they were a bit of a slacker band, but in reality the songs have alot of great harmonies. Definitely a few songs in their catalog have heavy Beatles influences..
