A.C. Gidien

I am a youthful "middle aged" man with progressive, eclectic musical tastes (i.e., not stuck in the 60's and 70's music of many of my peers). 80's indie/college/alternative is my "coming of age" favorite era, but I range from Baroque to Zydeco. I like to seek out and find new music (I snicker at people who say "there is no good music anymore" because they only listen to local FM radio all day). My wife and I still enjoy going to see bands live. My LP, cassette and CD collection is over 3000 albums, and now add digital and streaming.

A.C. Gidien's Album Reviews

TMOF is simply one of the most wrenching, heartfelt, uplifting, sad, and beautiful debut albums ever. One of the top albums of the 00's and holds up to this day (2017) with oft repeat plays. Rendered even more poignant now (May 2018) since Scott Hutchison committed suicide shortly after the completion of the 10th anniversary tour supporting the album. I was fortunate to see FR live on that final tour and three other times previously. Thank you and RIP SH.
