As a massive Rush fan, when I heard about this project, I wondered what Alex Lifesons' contribution would be. Hearing the single I was a little underwhelmed as Alex is definitely a member of a team and not hogging the limelight (see what I did there?).

I downloaded the album on the day of release and initial impressions are that this is Garbage (the band) but more ethereal.

Having lived with it for a couple of weeks and listening to it with no Rush based expectations, it is a fine album, well produced and a gothy, ethereal album based as much on atmosphere as hooks.

Alex gets to make sounds that he only hinted at on Signals and Grace Under Pressure. Textures that are subtle through to pace setting, but never wailing.

IT's a really good album, quite addictive, forget about Alex, it stands on it's own two feet without needing his reputation to persuade you otherwise. His contribution is great, but it is a team effort.

Congratulations for a really good album where expectations of the band and buyers could easily have undermined it. 8/10.

Having had several solo albums stolen from him to feed the Fleetwood Mac beast and being fired from FM, how to get revenge?

Answer write the most FM-like album you can, name it after yourself to underline where the domineering talent of FM comes from and release with a lot of promo.

Have no doubt, this is an attempt to end FM as a recording band as much as it is to make Lyndsey the mainstream solo star that he deserves to be.

Mick will be having some words with Stevie about how they might need Lyndsey more that she thinks they do.

A great FM style album. As much as I love them, FM without Lyndsey is just a very classy tribute act. No disrespect to the rest of the band or Lyndsey's replacements, I love the band, but it's true.
