b. 22 April 1913, Kinston, North Carolina, USA, d. 2 May 1971, Albany, New York, USA. Moore began playing guitar about 1930, and in 1934 won a talent contest organized by J.B. Long. It has been speculated that Moore recorded as Boll Weenie Bill for ARC, but this now seems unlikely. When located in 1970, he still possessed a wide repertoire, but died after preliminary recordings had been made.
